Lillpite

Hello from Sweden! Yep, this is where you find me the coming week.

I have already been home for a week but I have just been sitting inside working. I had requested to work from home for a week so that I could at least get the afternoons with my family but next week I will be on leave.

After dinner I got Gabriella to go out with me for a run. My office have decided to sign up for a 10k run in October and I think its safe to say that it is time for me to start getting my cardio working. We just ran 4k today but I am gonna try to run 8k each day this week to at least get started. And as you see on my pics, I might stop now and then to catch my breath, even if the nature around me is breathtaking!

NYC Saturday.

After our night out on Friday we spent the night at Megan's in Manhattan. Me and Chloë had breakfast at a diner. French toast for her and Nutella pancakes for me. I must admit American pancakes is not my favourite. They are too fluffy, haha.

We then spent the day at the 911 memorial museum. I could have spent many more hours there.

So tragic. All the people. All the families. And every one that looked as it happened. I don't know how long we spent there, but it was a while, but I still feel like I did not see it all. I would like to go once again.

We then headed back to New Jersey and played boardgames with Chloë’s family.

NYC Friday

Friday 23 May. NYC.

We had booked a boat trip out to the Statue of Liberty at 12:45.

The Statue was so much smaller than I ever thought it would be. But it was nice so see Manhattan from the water. After we had seen the Statue of Liberty we set sails to Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge.

After the boat we wanted to celebrate that Chloë got the job. She got the call on the bus into the city.

We saw a nice place on the way to the boat so we walked back there, to have a drink and celebrate. After not more than a second we were in conversations with two drunk fire fighters, haha. Chloë had reached out for a menu and accidentally touched one of the guys wallet, and we sat with them for about an hour, haha.

After saying bye to the firefighters we went to walk over Brooklyn Bridge. We only walked up to the first “pillar“ and back. We had so many other places to go to. But it was very impressive. Always strange to see something in real life that you only seen in movies and pictures your entire life.

After Brooklyn Bridge we went to Bryant park to look for a stand where Chloë wanted to buy some handmade key rings. She had bough one before that she always been given compliments for it, so she wanted to buy a few to give away, but sadly they were not there just that weekend.

We tired to make it to Central park, but the time was running out. We also wanted to do some shopping before we were going out with Megan and Henrik. We ran to Zara and got some outfits, took a taxi to Megans, got ready and met Henrik in a bar.

Coco-puffs for Brekkie and tea at Donut Dunkin before talking the bus into the city. I killed off all my taste buds after drinking the tea when boiling hot, hehe.

I look so lovely on the first photo, haha. A ladybug made herself at home on my nose as we were waiting for the bus. Chloës sister lives out in New Jersey so to get into the city we needed to take an hour long bus ride in.

After a very sugary breakfast I needed some greens in my body. I am kinda proud: I made Chloë like kale smoothies this day. Well, I didn’t make the smoothie or did I force it upon her, but I take all the credit.

First stop: Empire State Building! Is definitely a good way to start the trip, get a better understanding of the city by looking at it from the sky. Lovely, lovely views.

In the souvenir shop, one of the women working there asked me where I was from, whilst I was having a look in the shop. I said that I was from Sweden and the first thing she asked me was “Oh, so do you know Fredrik?“. (Like: “Yeah, as a fellow Swede I totally know Fredrik!”) “Ehh… what?”… was what I really said. “Yeah, you know, the real estate guy?”. Then I got it. Fredrik Eklund! The Swedish guy in Million Dollar Listing New York. So we were chit-chatting away about that for a second.

Chloë then showed me Times Square and where she used to sit and have lunch when she had her internship here. We then had a milkshake and some curly fries at a place called Ellen's Stardust Diner. It’s a restaurant with singing waitstaff. The staff is singers/dancers that wanna get into the broadway scene. So you got a free show whilst enjoying your meal.

After we had enjoyed the wee show at Ellen's Diner we were invited to Henrik's workplace close by. He usually works in another office but just today he was working in the office close to times square.

At the office there were free drinks and beer, so we sat there until it was time for me and Chloe to leave for our broadway show. No more sleep.

Seriously, this play was so cool. All dark, everyone needed to wear a mask and nobody was allowed to talk. You follow the actors around and see different (but still connected) plays play out throughout the "hotel". I am not gonna lie, it was a very sexy vibe in there. And lots of nudity, haha.

Going to New York (English version is coming soon)

Hej igen!

21 MAY

21:59 (NYC time) 02:59 (London time)

Nu är vi här. Pratat med Chloës syster och hennes man i köket ett tag. Det var han som

På planet frågade dom om Chloë ville ha kaffe. Hon sa nej, men fick det i allafall, haha!

US & A

Tomorrow is the day! The day I finally go to the US.

I have never been and never thought it would take until I was 27 for me to go.

I just finished work and I am on my way home to pack the last bits and pieces. I will also put on a face mask, oil up my hair, try the PIXI Retinol tonic I got today, put on a fake tan and have an 8 hours sleep (hopefully I won't get super excited and not able to sleep).

We will fly at 16:00 but we will try to be at Heathrow early and have lunch. We will arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport around 19:00 and will be picked up by Chloe's sister. Its gonna be so nice to see her American family. YEEY! I think I am finally starting to get nervose/excited!
